The Jeffreys Bay Shell Museum was started by the late Miss Marsh in the early 90's.
The museum is open to the Public 5 days and week from 8 am to 5 pm Mondays to Friday
9 am to 1 pm Saturdays
9 am to 1 pm Certain public holidays
There is no charge to enter the museum but donations is welcome.
The museum is housed in the Shell house complex on the corner of Dromedaris and Dias Road across the Local police station.
The Idea of the museum was to preserve shells for future generations as a lot of shell types are extinct because of over harvesting of shell fields in the world. And a lot of people will never be able to see some of the shells that is on display from across the world.
